PTSD symptoms, driving stress, and anxious driving behavior among novice drivers

The present study aimed to evaluate how PTSD symptomatology and general daily stress predict anxious driving behavior. A sample of 119 drivers in their first year since obtaining a license who were implicated minor or major car crash (caused by them as victim/witness) the last participated this (50.9% men, Mage = 23.78, SD 5.47). participants completed scales for measuring symptoms, dimensions (i.e., aggression, dislike driving, hazard monitoring, proneness fatigue, thrill-seeking), behavior performance deficits, exaggerated safety behavior, hostile behavior). results indicated that aggression positively predicted while was positive predictor deficits negative Thrill-seeking fatigue deficits. theoretical practical implications these are discussed.
